March 2020 Meeting and Spring Book Sale

Welcome to March Madness!

A couple of weeks ago FURL members gathered for our monthly meeting. We had great attendance, and glad to see more new faces at the table. The spring book sale was the primary topic on the agenda. We spent the meeting discussing volunteers and logistics. We were determined to make this our biggest, and best book sale yet.

A few days later, we were forced to cancel the book sale. As Gov. Hogan began closing schools, libraries, and businesses, due to the growing coronavirus pandemic, we knew the book sale was just not feasible at this time. Unfortunately, we do not know if we will reschedule the sale or cancel it completely. Like most people, we are living with daily uncertainty about future events. As time goes on we will keep our readers and followers updated about events and meetings via our website and Facebook page.

We expect the fall book sale to proceed as scheduled on September 12 and 13.

We encourage everyone to stay home, stay safe, and follow the CDC guidelines. Hopefully, this time of social distancing will pass and soon we can return to relative normalcy.

In the meantime, take advantage of this opportunity to explore FCPL’s online and digital resources. This includes an extensive selection of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and music.

Stay safe readers!
