FURL has had a busy 12 months!

We wanted to update our followers of all the exciting news and events that have taken place throughout the last year. We spent most of 2019 recruiting new members, advancing our tech-savvy, and spending money in support of the library and programming.

Here are some highlights:

We have acquired 18 new members since February 2019. That is nearly a 20% increase in membership in one year.
We’ve improved our social media and web presence by adding a Facebook page, creating a new website (urbanafriends.com), and starting the FURL blog.
We added credit card payments to the book sales.
We have raised $9,552.78, primarily through our three book sales and coin orbiter contributions.
We spent $6,945.57 to support library patrons and staff.
We continue to solicit and implement many new ideas, including how to improve the book sales and support the Urbana Library community.

We are excited to see what lays ahead for FURL in 2020. We welcome all and would love to hear your voice! Join us at our next meeting on March 10 at 6:30 in the upstairs conference room of the library.
